The last week or so has mostly been a blur. Wake up, work, settle arguments, make lunch. Repeat. A lot like “Groundhog Day,” but so far no Bill Murray. A girl can dream, however.

When I look back at my week in iPhone pictures though, there are a few things that stand out:

I also am not likely to forget one particular phone interview I was conducting with a job candidate. We were deep into the conversation when Mallory showed up and-despite knowing I was on a work call-proceeded to start making a milkshake.

A milkshake with M&Ms, which she tossed into the blender with abandon. Each M&M ricocheting around the blender cup like a pinball being launched. And my headphones picked up every single bounce. It was so absurd that all I could do was explain to the candidate that it was milkshake time.

Milkshake time stops for no one.

There were multiple movie nights: “The Great Outdoors,” “Chicago PD” (yes, technically a TV show but it was outside on a movie screen), “What About Bob?” and “Argo.” The “Argo” night even came with tickets and a concession stand, thanks to Mallory and Ally.

We’ve had homemade hibachi night, the most amazing homemade smore’s cupcakes, cinnamon muffins, vanilla cupcakes, chocolate chip cookies and milkshakes. We’ve been running, dog walking, swimming, bike riding, elliptical-ing. We’ve played Monopoly, Clue and cards. And, yet, despite all the protestations of being bored, I still can’t get anyone to do a puzzle with me.

Ally calculated how many flights of stairs it would take to equal walking to the top of the Eiffel Tower (look: math!) and she taped two sticks together to measure six feet so she can be sure she’s keeping the appropriate distance when she walks around our neighborhood.

And in what is likely my biggest mistake since we’ve been staying home, I cut Casey’s hair. The back looks pretty good, and that’s all I’ll say about that. You can Venmo me if you want to chip in for his future therapy.

We are so bored that the other night I got up to walk from the bedroom to the kitchen and passed Ron and Mallory. Both of them asked me where I was going. As if there are a lot of options at this point.

Wherever you are, I hope your baked goods are aplenty and you have a puzzle buddy.

Peace. XO.
