Christmas vacation is here! I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to finally being able to spend some time at home with my family.
We started off the break with a quiet Saturday and a frozen custard taste test on Saturday night. Whit’s, an Ohio chain that some transplants wisely brought with them, won, beating out Culver’s and Andy’s Frozen Custard. Let’s be clear though that there are no losers when it comes to frozen custard. It’s all good.
Not shown in these pictures is the fight that Mallory and Casey got in because…well I’m not actually sure what the cause was but it was dumb. And I’m not too proud to take a picture of the fight; I just wasn’t fast enough with the camera.
The best part of December so far has been our new family additions. We aren’t brave enough to get a pandemic puppy like virtually everyone else, but we did get two COVID kitties. Introducing Maggie and Maizy. Do not listen to rebel forces that are trying to rename them Coco and Puff. Those forces will be crushed.
On Sunday we went ice skating at the US National Whitewater Center. This is what I like to call Forced Family Fun. On the way there we stopped for lunch. Casey took one bite of his Jersey Mike’s and lost a tooth, which he promptly handed to me.
I don’t have a natural spot in my car for holding body parts that have fallen off, so I dropped it in the little nook in the door, right by the handle. This was all fine and dandy until Monday morning when I took the car to the dealership for service. I had just checked in and was heading to the waiting room when I remembered his tooth sitting there. I was worried the mechanic would assume the weird rattling noise was not a loose whatchamacallit but more teeth from the serial killer who clearly owns this Honda Pilot and realized I had to get that tooth fast. I said I forgot something in the car and ran back before they drove it off. This is how I happen to have a molar in my jeans pocket right now. And I’m not sure but I think Cousin Eddie would proud.
Only four days til the Big Man gets here. Wishing you all your very own fun, old-fashioned family Christmas.
